Secular Education for Ultra-Orthodox boys (Mishkenotecha Yisrael)
Established in 2011, the Mishkenotecha Yisrael track serves students that studied in the Haredi school system from grades K-8 and are unable to continue at the high school level due to its rigorous academic demands and 14-hour days. These students are unprepared for the level of secular studies taught in mainstream schools because of the Haredi school system’s strong emphasis on religious education and lack of secular studies. Mishkenotecha provides them with extra educational support as they pursue a secular education within a religious framework, which allows them to feel a sense of continuity from their earlier schooling experience and a sense of belonging when visiting their family. The program’s dedicated, highly trained staff work with each student to fill the gaps in his education, as well as address any behavioral, emotional or social challenges he may face.
